Non-competitive this time but there will be some new stuff displayed because some new members have joined us from the recently closed club run by John Hanby.

A little reminder here that its Emley Show on 4th August:- www.emleyshow.org.uk Len Evans will be judging the bonsai exhibits.

RE: colour in containers

Ooooooooh we all had a great time, lots of meetings and chatting with friends, that we only see once a year.
A great show in the Main Hall, it surprised me that the entries were 'up' on last year, well done to all the growers who had a difficult job contending with this unusual weather of the past few months.

In the 2nd hall, (refreshments, displays of fuchsia lore, tropical and perennial plant sales, craft item sales etc, etc), everyone enjoyed their lunches, cups of tea and home-made cake and lots of 'leg-pulling' and laughter, which makes all the effort of 12 months of growing all worth while. Congratulations everyone. :)

RE: colour in containers

Don't talk to me about rain, we've still got a cellarful and the car may never be the same. Its running but is followed by a very big smoke cloud.:P

I hope that the show isn't washed out. Let us know the details.

RE: colour in containers

Know what you mean Don, my 'grey-matter' seems to be slowly disappearing too :). I've got a 25" clay pot planted up with one called 'Lucy', new one for me. Masses of buds on it, will post a pic when they open.
Just for a change we're having another thunderstorm at the moment, off to the 2nd. day of the Colchester Fuchsia Show in a minute.

Have a good Sunday :)

RE: colour in containers

Sorry Kath I don't remember.
