Wet here, too, Kath, for the past couple of days. Sweeties didn't like getting her feet wet and was glad to be home, after walkies. We did have sleet this morning, which left quite a large deposits on some car windowscreens.

Yes Penny, all gone away from here as well, a couple of days of rain did the trick.

Lovely bright day here yesterday, so nice to see a bit of sun, but this morning very foggy, but cleared away by the early afternoon :)

Hope none of you are still "marooned". The snow has gone here, thank goodness. It's so much easier to get around. We are due for more but the forecast is for it to be a lighter fall and one that won't last long - let's hope so.

You seem to have been 'marooned' for an awful long time Don, so glad your son managed to visit and bring you the essentials. Let's hope it soon starts to thaw for you.

Our main roads are clear into the village now, but our street is very dangerous for pedestrians, ice underneath deep slush on road and pavements., where has the common sense gone to, not allowed to clean the bit of public path outside of one's residence, poohey, we did it anyway :hehe:

Mildly good news.
Our son managed to bring us some food in although he had to walk the final leg.
I tottered down our drive today to see one set of tire tracks going down. A neighbour must have ventured out. Needless to say there were no tracks coming back.:rolleyes:

Situation grinding to a halt now in respect of closed paths and roads, forecast is still for MORE snow tomorrow.

In spite of that, the remains of 'Lady Boothby' (climbing fuchsia against front house wall), and 'Abutilon' (on a sheltered wall next to patio in the back garden), are still trying to flower :)

Lovely to see the photos, Kath. The pea soup looks delicious.

Must get the camera out and take some of the garden. I'm busy with the new dog at the moment and walking dogs for older people who can't get out. Will be very happy when the snow has gone.

Oh BOTHER Don (or words to that effect) :) what rotten luck, glad you were able to free things indoors, hope you can get out soon.

A hock and trotter are bubbling in an extra large saucepan at the moment, going to add soaked peas, carrots, leeks and smoked sauage, old fashioned pea soup on the menu today with chunks of hot garlic bread :)

Car stays in the garage, under the recent snowfall our road is a sheet of ice. Here a few piccys:-

We're still isolated but we haven't reached the bottom of the food yet:unsure: We'll have to crawl it if this continues. The waste pipes were frozen this morning and when I freed them, the water discharged over our back yard because the grate was also frozen. Needless to say, that's frozen like a rink now. Great sport.:Wow: YAHOO!

We've been stuck on our hill for a while now. No vehicles have managed to get up for around three weeks. Today, the Sheffield buses have all stopped running and a great percentage of schools are closed. I'm unable to walk far and we're considering raiding the goat's feed bin for sustenance. Water, gas and electricity are all still coming in thank goodness but I can't bring any fuel in for the lounge fire. We've been warming pans of water and leaving them strewn around to lift the temperature a bit. We're wearing dressing gowns on top of our day clothes. The bins haven't been emptied again but at this rate we shall not have any more refuse to add to the overflowing mess. My thoughts are with Apisto in Motherwell, who reports that his water pipes are frozen. Someone was saying that we're experiencing global warming! :hehe:
