So yeah must be a birch :D:D

i may refine the foliage when the weather warms up, but i dont want to put too much more into this tree until i'm happy that its alive.

i look forward to seeing a picture of the similar size tree you have.

Thats a big pot,That must of cost alot going by the size of it.When do you plan to do more work on it?

On another note,I Have a Silver Birch/beech tree that was just as huge as your juniper in height.ill post some pics later,however don`t have a before pic.So ill post a random before and a real after work pic.

i have two options, the pot it is in at the moment or the large bonsai pot below which measures 28.5" x 20" x 7"

the bag of cat litter apart from the fact that i use it on all my trees is there to give an indication of size.

Hi Mr Miyagi, when I'm happy that it has survived the ordeal, i will refine the top & as that was the only area with foliage I will be bending some branches downwards. Lots to do if it does survive, which I'm looking forward to.

thanks for your encouragement Kath, at least if it fell on me i might survive now!

It been quite a nice day up in north yorkshire, only 3c but with no wind its felt rather pleasant.

I love seeing your work Roy :), you do really 'dare-to-go-in-there' and get on with it :):):), brilliant, keep up the good work :)

Another dismal day here, -4c overnight, and as there was plenty of sunshine yesterday, couldn't see your hand in front of your face this morning, dense fog. Now pouring with rain/sleet and snow mixed in with it, happy days :)

phase two, to remove the live bark on the proposed deadwood / jins & removed unwanted branches etc.

Hi Kath, yes another tree saved from the scrap heap, but only if it lives, i will keep you informed.

i had chance to wrok on this huge juniper today, which would have gone to the tip. its got a long way to go, but at least its not in a skip!

an idea of scale

lots of major carving to do, but i'm jiggered now. lets hope it survives.
