At least watering won't be necessary. I'm registering 2+ here at the moment.
The only strong signs for the new growing season up to now are an abundance of Corylus catkins. Even the Jasminium seems to have retreated.
Its being so cheerful that keeps me going. :crying:

RE: Can't wait for spring....
RoyH (08/11/2009)
yes i'm looking forward to march 2010 as i have some repotting to do then & i will be using 100% cat litter.:w00t:
Same here,Need to buy some new pots to for my in training trees. But might not have the money before the trees start to bud/flower etc.

RE: Can't wait for spring....

:D:D:D Agree entirely Don, this winter has 'really taken the biscuit' as they say. Not only the cold and white stuff but the greyness of it all and lack of sunshine I find so depressing, but we must look on the bright side, at least we are heading in the right direction, the snowdrops are pushing through and beginning to flower.

Hang on in there folks :)

RE: Can't wait for spring....

The extended freeze up in the UK over the turn of the decade gradually subsided and I even saw the beginnings of swelling buds but the temperature has plummeted again, hopefully not to spoil any tender sprouts. We've just about had enough haven't we folks? I may have to write a letter to my MP if better weather is not provided by the cabinet. :P

RE: Can't wait for spring....

yes i'm looking forward to march 2010 as i have some repotting to do then & i will be using 100% cat litter.:w00t:

RE: Can't wait for spring....

Yes, "roll on the Spring". Everything at a standstill here. The last things I planted were onions. Ought to get out and do some tidying of fallen leaves and apples.

:)

RE: Can't wait for spring....

Hi John
Yes a bit depressing to say the least, everything looks a mess, but have started to have a tidy-up and have planted another 250 mixed crocus bulbs, only another 250 to plant, it won't be today, as yet again it's pouring with rain, never mind, back to the craft :)

Can't wait for spring....

Anyone else hate this time of year????

i prefer my deciduous trees fully dressed and not in their birthday suits:angry:

my job entails having to work 12hour shifts so, when i'm on days, it's dark when i'm going to work and dark when i get home from work...

i tend to lose a couple of trees as they don't get the attention that they need and with the warmer fall/ winters they can dry out rather quickly:crying:

roll on spring;)

john:)
