All deciduous re-potting should be completed before Palm Sunday. Evergreens may be left until later. We want to know don't we folks?[/quote]Ive done all my re-potting on the weekend,and have indeed lost two elms.My in training dawn redwoods are growing like mad atm and there only a year old.

as for pictures its been raining for weeks here :D:P

What's happening out there? I thought that these pages would be full of posts and photographs as the growing season gets under way.
All deciduous re-potting should be completed before Palm Sunday. Evergreens may be left until later. I should talk, I started at Christmas and am still at it.:P Is anyone doing anything especially exciting this year? We want to know don't we folks?

Yes indeed, lovely to see the sun during this past week, have been busy in the greenhouses, having a general clear up in between the pots/dishes of fuchsia bonsai, clearing up dropped and deadleaves, a little pruning where necessary. Early crocus and snowdrops are flowering in the garden, can't get out there yet to do anything, soil still gets a frost at night and during the day it's still too 'puggy' :)

i wouldnt have thought re potting your elms would have killed them, do you have any reason to blame that, or are you based in a very cold country?[/quote]Only thing ive done is repot them.changed the soil type to.that with the snow for 4 weeks and the cold weather etc killed them.

Never liked them anyway lol.:P

i wouldnt have thought re potting your elms would have killed them, do you have any reason to blame that, or are you based in a very cold country?

Think two of my elms have died to,due to being repotted last year and the weather.

On another note its been sunny down here for 5 days now lol.

Buds are swelling in the UK and we should now be feverishly trying to catch up with the re-potting which has been delayed by the frozen root systems. We're still getting the freezing nights but things are definitely improving as the days get steadily longer. I had to shoot off yesterday to replenish my cat litter with another 90 litres. Its amazing where it all goes. I've even put some in the Fuchsias this year. All the best to you and have a good growing year. =Don.
