I might even go to the next internode down from where you red line is. That branch right now is to straight and is to far to the right for me. It will send out other shoots and will fill in the space alot more.

This will also give the impression of a larger trunk, which would make the tree have a little more power and more significant presence.

The other branches would have to come back to compensate.

Yes somewhere around there. I think that would eventually make for a nice shohin.

After I removed that I would cut back the remaining outline of the tree and begin work on the ramificaiton of the tree.

I like the acer. I have one that is in a broken pot and must get on and put it in a new one.

I can see a nice little shohin in there, if you remove the top branch and trim back the branch to the right.

don, i don't really know how many i have at present but i have three tables full, loads down the edge of the garden and two cold greenhouses full:ermm:

the missus keeps getting at me as she wants me to set the bottom half of the garden up for my bonsai and have the top half of the garden clear for her to sit out in the summer (selfish beggar:D:D)
there wouldn't be enough room for all my trees (though most are little more than twigs in pots:blush:
i wish i had a jungle like yours don, i could get lost in it:cool:

hello all

i bought a very nice ladies collection as she was moving to france, this maple was among them, this was about two years ago, as usual, i attacked it with the scissors, i think i will just pinch it this year as i tend to get carried away with tools:blush:
