This might have been my fault Baz, either/or you may have tried to look whilst I was doing a correction or you were not 'logged-in'. If you're not 'logged-in' you cannot view any photos.

Hi Nick,

I've re-sized your 1st image to 640 x 455 pixels, if you keep the maximum size, be it width or height, to 640 pixels then it will fit the forum page better without distorting same. Have added your 2nd image too. Yes Don is quite right, it sounds complicated, but very easy to do.

Please don't worry, you'll get the hang of it :). Always tell us if you have a problem, be it great or small :)

I've taken the liberty of making your first photo visible. The way to do it is to right-click on your image after posting and copy the URL from properties, Select the image code in the box to the left and paste the URL between the two {img] and [/img]. This will post the photo so it can be be seen without downloading. As Kath said to me 'it sounds complicated but comes easy the second time you do it'. Now have a practice on the second photo and see how it goes.

Your big undertaking is going to be the countering of the lack of taper on that field maple. Do you have anything in mind along those lines?

Thought I'd better get a post on the board so here's one of the trees I've had for a few years. Bought about 2 years ago as training material from a local nursery, see picture below taken in Feb 2006.

I've since trimmed it back and last spring (2007) when repotting took off a huge piece of root (since planted and growing to hopefully become a clump). The removal of this root seemed to knock the tree back a bit and last years growth was poor but hopefully this year it'll be stronger and I'll be able to get a bit more ramification.
