The Swiss chard seedlings are romping away. Hope they survive. The wind got up an hour or so ago and brought a shower of rain with it. Not much. It is fairly dry here and I wouldn't mind some rain for the garden.

:)

RE: Dare I say it...................

Wow Penny, that was quick germination :)

Same here, still pleasant but not quite so much sun today, have spent the day re-potting/pruning back some of the Maples/Acers, leaf buds are forming nicely on the stems/branches. Time to pack up now and have a nice cuppa :)

RE: Dare I say it...................

:) Hello Kath.

A dry bright morning, though it's clouding over. The Swiss chard seeds I put in the heated propagator on Sunday and I have inch-long shoots today. I'm going to grow them on in the greenhouse and plant them out when they're bigger, to resit bird attacks!

RE: Dare I say it...................

Well done Penny :)
You've been working hard too. Another nice day here, but forecast is for rain at the end of the week. Today I've been sorting out the rockery, then tidying up the patio pots, am now hard pruning the Abutilon back, (trained onto a wall), at this time of year I chop everything off except the 'main frame' of the plant. Enjoy your day too :)

RE: Dare I say it...................

Hello Kath. Thanks for your update on your gardening activities.

A nice sunny day, here, today. My potatoes are in, along with shallots and onions and I'm starting Swiss chard in the heated propagator so I can plant out the little plants.

Hope the weather doesn't get very cold again.

A neighbour started working on her grass today, raking it. My little patch hasn't been touched yet. I'm waiting to have some frames made by a local gardener, so I can spread netting over the raised beds to keep off cats.

Nice to have crocuses and pulmonaria in flower in the garden. All the roses has little buds with some leaves beginning to open.

Penny

Dare I say it...................

Is this the beginning of Spring??????? or are we going to have another 'rude awakening' next week ?????????

Atm it is +10c, sun is shining and not a cloud in the sky :) Spent time this morning pruning the rose 'Compassion' around the rose arch and cleaned the geenhouse rooves, removing moss from the outer edges of each panel of glass, cleaned the gutterings.

Moved on to tidy up the small semi circular border by first greenhouse, corydalis is covered in chickweed and grass seedlings. Would you believe, I'm planting crocus bulbs that never got planted in October :):):) Most were planted and everything is amass of the small early lilac crocus (been there for years), the larger yellow and purple flowered ones are still in bud.

Just had a bit of lunch so it's 'back to the weeding' have a good day all :)
