| just testing the easy way to upload pictures: - 
and it worked, thanks Daryl, another of my acers, which as you can see is a poor picture against a white background. Taken last year, so i hope to improve the on this picture this summer. I dont know what the variety is either.

| Roy. I too have used both black and white backgrounds. They both have weak points and I am considering getting a piece of light blue cloth to try.

Hi Don, i would be interested to see your findings as i can always paint the white side of this board blue. I do think the black give a better result than the white.

Light blue backcloth has won me over. Modern cameras take note of the total light, A white background makes the tree look like a silhouette and the black tends to finish with an overexposed tree. These things can be compensated for by using expensive photo editing software but getting it right first time is the winner.

Boooooooooooooootiful Roy, I can see I'll have to hunt-out a piece of blue cloth, I rather like cream as well, our Dutch friend Christianne uses that colour just lately which also compliments the trees.
