Mine too Don, I just hope they keep completely closed until all risk of frost has gone, but of course that can be a while yet.

Don't mention wind, I can't stand it in any shape or form, don't know why but always makes me irritable, no wind at all for me

Whoops!   The floods are on us again here.

My name is Don and I'm a bonsaiholic.
My imaginary friend Givitago takes over when I'm not sure of myself in print. He's not a complete fool - several bits are missing.

Lots of standing water in the fields still. I count myself lucky not to live right next to a flooding river. Hope things dry out soon so we can begin gardening this year.

Sorry Steve I'm a bit confused by your question If you meant the photo of the plant on the wall that is an Abutilon, or were you referring to something else?

I was able to dig over the vegetable patch yesterday. Had to get a new rake to use on it later. I've put up canes, ready for beans. Also planted mint in a scrubby patch beside the back garden path. I don't mind if it spreads there.

Intermittant snow since the early hours today.  We've even had snow falling in sunshine, very pretty.  I managed a couple of hours digging yesterday after church. Nothing new in the vegetable beds yet but it will not be long.

Spinach and spring onions have started to germinate in the portable greenhouse. I spent the morning replacing concrete between the paving stones of the patio, ready for the big greenhouse when it comes. The weather was cold this morning but we had a sunny day and I was able to enlarge the potato plot.

These peony shoots in the front garden are attractive, I think.
