| hi all, earlier this year i treated my potted Bonsai with Provado vine weevil killer & I feel that this has caused a slight problem with my trees. They haven't been as good as last year with some browning of the foliage particularly on my Japanese Larch, which i can only put down to Provado. The only other thing i have done different this year was to repot them all using a mixture of compost & cat litter??

| Hi Roy. I can't say from experience if that is the cause. If soapy water doesn't clobber any insect invasion I resort to diatomaceous earth. Neither of this are injurious to plant life. Has anyone else had negative effects from Provado?

| I have used it on a particular border in the front garden i.e. the one parallell to the public path, they always seem to 'lurk' there, and have had no problems. Although I have never seen any in pots, I give all pots a good soaking in late spring and this time of year before putting anything back into the greenhouse and have not had a problem with any of the plants/trees that have been treated.

Hi Kath / Don, i spoke to Graham of Kaizan Bonsai at the bonsai expo at Don Valley & he said Provado wouldn't harm the trees & that even if i had mixed it slightly stronger than i should have done, it would cause any problems. He did say that he thought the browning of the tips of foliage on my Larch would have been caused by too much sun / winds?

Nice to know that it wasn't the fault of the Provado Roy, let's hope your larch comes back next spring with that lovely new green foliage green
