Hello.

Here are the beans and some of the roses.

I went to a Dorothy House Hospice Fete today, lots of plants - got a scented leaf geranium and a little fern. Must look out for hardy fuschias tomorrow, as I'm going to Bowood House for their Country Fair and Dog Show.

You're so tidy Penny.

Looking at the climbers, anyone would think that you supported Sheffield United.

Thank you, Don. I'm not really a tidy person but am pleased it looks that way. Doing all the gardening myself, I have to keep it in hand, especially now I'm older.

I didn't realilze about Sheffield United colours. The two colours of the roses look good together.

A great display of roses Penny, I can smell them from here , have a good Sunday, forecast for here is heavy rain, hope so as the garden has dried up rapidly again due to the winds of the past week.

I hope you get your rain, Kath. We had heavy rain in the night which was very welcome, but it did knock down a lot of the big roses. It was due to rain today but we had a very nice, sunny day and were able to get to the Bowood Country Fair in the dry.

I visited herb grower today and came away with a big pot of Melittis Melissophyllum, which glories in the common name of "Bastard Balm". I didn't know what it was when I saw it, except that it looked like a form of balm. I liked the purple and white flowers.

Nice pics as always, penny.

The "mystery plant" shown in your webshots album here is Phlomis russelliana, the herbaceaous cousin of the shrub P. fructosa (jerusalem sage).

Thanks very much, Jimothy. Good to know what the plant is. I'm very pleased to have it in the garden.

I visited Bowood House for the Country Fair the other day and then on to a herb farm where I got a Melittis melissophyllum. I didn't know what it was, except I recognized it as a form of balm. It's common name "Bastard Balm" denoting, perhaps, that it's a false balm.

It was the flowers that attracted me to the plant, Kath. Apparently, bees like them a lot.

Yes, the semprevivum is pretty. I have quite a few in tubs and pots - they are a favourite plant of mine.

Overcast today but not raining, yet. I've watered the vegetables that needed it and the tubs and pots out front. Time to walk the dogs, when I've finished my cup of tea.
