I am living in Karachi Pakistan and I have a special dates fruit plant which grow only Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's city Madina about 1 feet can I convert this plant into Bonsai. I am new in Bonsai technique. Your help required for making soil because "Peat, sand, grit,Akadama Japanese Clay Granules,Kanuma Japanese Clay Granules" are not available in Karachi Pakistan so what is there alternate?

Yes Imran, it is virtually possible to make any tree into bonsai. The only negative thing is that leaves on some trees are proportionately large and therefore look out of balance on a small tree.

Can you obtain gravel which is intended for fish tanks?  This would be fine for the grit content of your growing medium. One part grit to two parts of soil would provide the free drainage which is needed.
