First time I've grown tomates in a hanging pot, quite pleased with these

'Scrumptious' apple. Purchased this patio apple tree last Autumn from Ken Muir's nursery. 23 apples on it at the moment, can't wait for them to ripen so that I can try one.

Red & Green Kangaroo Paw plant. Bought the seed back with me from Australia April 2008. Sowed same and kept small plants in greenhouse this past winter. In May planted into this large pot and stood on patio. Just beginning to flower. Think I shall overwinter them in the cool greenhouse, would hate to loose them.

All very worthwhile Kath.  As soon as I saw the Kangaroo paw I thought 'Strellitzia'.  A most unusual plant to see in blighty.  Shall you be able to save any seed from it?  Overwintering sounds as though it might be perennial.

Morning Don, yes I shall definitely try to save some seed, if successful, you'll definitely have some

I didn't actually ask -  Hint hint.   That would be very kind Kath, fancy you thinking of that.

Footnote:

Latin name is Anigozanthos Manglesii.

Half hardy to frost free perennial.

Easy to cultivate from seed.

Plants, grow in 3 parts leaf mould and one part each of loam and sharp sand in full light. Do not overwater when keeping them in a greenhouse during winter months.

Outdoors, will flower during summer months. If kept in greenhouse may flower any time of the year.

Info from RHS Encyclopedia (my Bible )

Yes "fancy me thinking of that", you're very welcome

Watch your language.  Particularly unpronounceable Latin.

Very nice, Kath. What a good crop of tomatoes. I grew five plants together in a big tub but yours looks a heavier crop than mine.

Three plants in the 8" hanging pot Penny, the little plants were just called 'Tumbling Tomatoes', don't know if they had another name as well. Just kept feeding them with Original Maxicrop (the one in the brown bottle) twice a week, never expected as many fruits as that

A really good crop, Kath. I don't feed mine as often as you do - that's probably the reason you have more toms. An excellent variety, by the look of it.
