| Training large structures like fans, pillars, espaliers needs quite a bit of patience Kath, approximately 3 to 4 years at least, of course you could always go for the 'mini' versions of same, which do not take so long to achieve a good result. A good guide is well written in George Bartlett's book "Fuchsias A Colour Guide" ISBN 1-85223-927-1, if you don't already have a copy yourself I'm sure your local library will be able to help as it is a very popular book.
