I rescued these hardy Fuchsias from my garden in 2005. It must be high time that I considered styling them. Will No.1 be viable in view of it only retaining one divided branch to work with?

Both have max. potential Don.
As an example, look here :-), this also was 'trial and error'
Plant dug up from garden, 80% of top growth cut away. Roots: all tap roots cut off completly, leaving as many of the fine white roots as possible, planted up into this 3 litre pot and left to grow for a year.

over a period of time, approx. 5 years, and much TLC = 'snipping and pruning' it now looks like this.........

I would prune hard back on this one Don and let it grow away again, it looks like one of the Magellanicas and will throw up lots of long growths, so keep 'cutting-it-back-hard' to eventually get a decent shape.

| Okay. I'll leave it in its present container for now, prune and feed it. What about no.1 though. Plenty of wood and 1 branch.. I can get that to bush out but will it be enough to work with?

Yes Don,
Plenty to work on, even though now it is basically one branch, + point is that it also looks like one of the Magellanicas. The harder you cut them back the more they will 'bud-back' and 'branch-out'
