Goodmorning everyone,

I thought you might like a place where you can discuss other daily happenings, events, weather etc outside of bonsai.

So I'll start the ball rolling by asking 'When, when, when are we going to have a mild, dry, sunny day so we can have a bit of a tidy up to show off the 'soon to come' spring flowering bulbs.?', I need to get behind the spade and fork again, but ground is much too puggy atm and there's poor Carol 'down under' struggling to keep things going because of the drought.

Thank you Kath and Jan also for providing an off topic forum.   I know that Penny in particular will appreciate it.  More strength to your elbows.<-is this what you'll look like in Oz?

For the vast majority of the day, today has been exactly as requested - did you manage to get out and do something?

Only in the greenhouse Jim, potting up into individual pots rooted fuchsia cuttings and repotting some fuchsia bonsai which really should have been done in October

Hey, I actually got the huge Chamaecyparis out of the ground and into a box today.  The one that's destined for a demonstration in May. Phew! what a weight. I might need a flat top and crane to get it to the club.

Yes, thanks. A place just to chat!

Today (Saturday) was quite a pleasant day, i.e. not actually raining. I didn't do anything in the garden, though I am trying to make up my mind whether to grow potatoes this year.

Did some Latin homework. I'm learning through the U3A. My neighbour and friend is the tutor so I don't have far to go for a lesson. We didn't have Latin as a subject at school but it's always interested me.

One of my dogs isn't well and I've had to borrow money from the Credit Union for her treatment. I'm at lunch with the vet tomorrow (I used to work for her and babysat her children years ago), so we'll talk about the best thing to do. Always difficult when our animals are ill.

Hope you're all enjoying the day.

Hi Penny

Sorry to hear about your dog.

We Had to have one of ours put to sleep a few weeks ago. It was done a couple of days after Wendy had her major op, not a good time.

We miss her but the others didn't seem to!

Best regards
