Hello Kath.

Thank you for your kind wishes. The vet isn't in work today but she will (if she remembers) get Billy's lab results faxed to her house and then let me know what we ought to do. Sounds as though it might be a pancreatic tumour, or problem, and she might need medication. Won't know until she has an ultra-sound scan. She's a dear dog. She was the longest-stay dog in the shelter when I was looking for a dog, and very shy. I had to crawl into the kennel to get her to come out.

We've all had a nice walk and I've bathed Cecil (the lab) and been into town shopping - rushing around because I thought I had to be back for the telephone engineers to call and, on checking checked the calendar, find it's tomorrow!

I'll keep you informed as to how Billy gets on.

Good morning, everyone.

I didn't hear from the vet yesterday so expect a call today.

The dogs have had breakfast and I've put ear-cleaner in their ears, so they're ignoring me for a while, feeling "miffed"! I'll walk them shortly and then have to wait in for the telephone contractors to replace the cable which runs through the front garden, so I'm expect trampled plants.

No rain overnight, so looks nice for a walk. I noticed my grass is growing and will need cutting soon.

Goodmorning Penny,

Very grey and dull here atm, hopefully the sun will come through later, going to the supermarket first then hopefully spend the rest of the day in the green house, still lots of repotting to do

Fingers crossed the telephone contractors will use a 'mole' tool underneath your soil to replace the old cable, fingers crossed AGAIN, we can't have our plants ruined now can we !!!!!!

Quite right, Kath. Certainly don't want squashed plants. They were pretty good and lay the new cable round the edge of the garden, along the house wall and up over the door, down the other side, along the wall that side and into the junction box! I will be able to heap soil over the cable or place the big stones I have round the edge of the garden over it so it doesn't show. Not going to be a big problem. It's nice to have the phone working properly.

Jayne, my vet, said Billy's lab report is nothing to worry about but she'd like her to have a scan because of the tenderness in her abdomen so we're off to the next town (6 or 7 miles away) on Monday morning for that. I thought I'd go on the bus but will probably have a taxi there. I'll be able to stay with her while it's done as she won't need an anaesthetic, just her fur shaved off.

Hope your weather brightened. A nice "early-spring" day here. We walked by the river this morning. The paths are still muddy from recent flooding but the dogs enjoyed themselves.

I found the horticultural fleece, so if the weather looks like being cold I'll cover the camelia.

Convey our good luck wishes to 'Billy'.  We hope that everything is either okay or treatable.           =Don and Givitago.  "Whoof".

Thanks, everyone. I'll tell her you're all thinking of her. She goes for her scan on Monday and I'll let you know how it goes.

Just about to watch "Around the World in 80 Gardens", is anyone following the series? Only just found out about it.

Didn't see all of it this evening Penny, was up here on the pc working and forgot the time, blow, nevermind.

But more important glad to hear the latest news about Billy, we'll all be rooting for her on Monday, you can be sure of that

No it didn't brighten up here, I'm sad to say, but I persevered and got a few more bonsai re-potted. When there's some 'brightness' I'll take some more piccys and show you.
