this is my garden this time last year lol

What a difference a year makes, it's surprising how quickly things become established isn't it. I'm sure like the rest of us gardeners' you will get great satisfaction from your garden and bonsai, nice specimens too.

I appreciate the labour that went into laying the stepping stones.
Nice layout with some interesting trees too. I'm concerned that the Larch looks precarious in that tiny pot but perhaps you have Literati designs on it.
Make sure that you keep turning the pots to even out new growth on the trees. Your design looks like an easy upkeep option, well done. =Don.

thank you both im loving watching things grow , got big plans for garden next year . Im going to try and give it more depth and more structure . My larch has got Literati designs in mind , iv been very surprised on how sturdy it is . since our last chat on white pines don iv been looking at my trees in more depth and moved about a couple of branches to the front and back looking much better thx . just one more pease of advice please . my white pine has new needles on it now , do i take some of these of in autumn ?

Pines are complex in their response to pruning and can even be quite negative at times. If you're still growing for more tree it's sometimes good to leave them to get on with it for a couple of years. Removing needles is restricted to old needles.Tip pruning is only in candle reduction most of the time.
