The little trees are snug under the snow on the roof.

My name is Don and I'm a bonsaiholic.
My imaginary friend Givitago takes over when I'm not sure of myself in print. He's not a complete fool - several bits are missing.

little snowmen all lined up I can see you have had more snow than us down here in the SE corner, been snowing on and off all day but luckily day temperatures were just above 0c, just enough to stop the snow settling. Keep warm and be careful on slippery paths/pavements

One day on and they're still growing. No let up of the Arctic conditions is forecast during the next seven days.

Oh my goodness, at least the snow gives a bit of protection against these horrible cold easterly winds. Still lucky down here approx. only 4 inches of snow atm, roads in village are like glass, keep warm and safe

Outside is the natural place for trees to be but if we grow something which is native to tropical or sub-tropical areas it will probably not stand temperate winters so some protection is necessary when the thermometer plummets.

Thank you So for instance, if you have an Oak in a pot it would be ok to leave to leave it out. I was thinking more from the point of view of frost getting to the roots in the small pot or dish. Or would you offer some protection when the temperatures go really low, for say several days at a time.
