hi all, after having large acers in my garden for many years, which have flowred & dropped seeds, this year is the first summer that i have managed to collect two acer seedlings which are making nice little trees.

i have also found two other seedlings, which i'm not sure what they are? ps i dont smoke, i found the sig lighter in our drive & its just for scale.

juniper??

And now the 'waiting game' Roy , always interesting to see how things survive and grow. The past few years I have only found cotoneaster seedlings growing in between the gravel, of course these grow very easily which is a bonus

Very true Kath, at my age i doubt i will see them 10 feet tall, but its fun watching them grow. I think the seedlings are due to the severe winters we have just had that has helped them germinate. I will put them in my shed if the frost becomes severe over winter just to give them some added protection.
