| Perhaps John Naka's timing is a bit out for the UK because he wrote for the US, even on the West Coast if I'm not mistaken. I don't know how the season differs between here and there but that could be the reason.

I suppose its feeding after a fashion but you'll probably put me back in the nut-house for this. Being basically thrifty, I hate to waste anything and after boiling vegetables in the kitchen, I cool the water and consign it to the garden or planters rather than feeding the denizens of the sewers. There must be some good stuff in the water.
