| As UK browsers will know, this has been one of the wettest summers on record. The ground has taken as much moisture as it can hold and the torrential rain of the last 24 hours has resulted in many pockets of flooding. I had two diversions on the school run today, when we went to pick up the grandchildren from their respective schools. Local rivers are dangerously high at this time. I have been unable to have pasture cut for hay this year and am getting dangerously close to running out of winter feed already. Everyone in the area is in the same dilemma. What to do is a worry.

| When are we going to have at least a dry fortnight???????????? I just grumble because I can't get outside and work in the garden, and as we live on sandy soil, it drains very quickly, and are also in the driest part of UK, it just inconvenient, but in your area it must be very frightening when rivers rise so very high, and as you say how long will it take for that sodden ground to ever dry out. Will you now be able to buy winter feed?, that must in itself be very expensive, but more importantly is there any available at all in your area, or will it have to come from e.g. down this way or even further afield?

Will you now be able to buy winter feed?, that must in itself be very expensive, but more importantly is there any available at all in your area, or will it have to come from e.g. down this way or even further afield? Everyone up here is in the same situation so there's nothing to be picked up. The only collected stuff will be silage. That will be at a premium and I don't like it anyway.

The snow hit us last night. It turned to rain during today and I'm waiting for the resultant slush to be frozen again later. I hope that we'll get back home again because we're going to our grandson's music concert at school tonight and we live up a steep hill.

I'm sorry to hear you were hit by the snow, Don. None here, thank goodnes. We have had a lot of rain over the past week or two, though. I'm always very glad I don't live near a river that floods.
Hope the snow has gone and that you managed to get to and from the school concert safely.

| Yes, we made it. The musical evening was the best that we have attended at the school. Temperature is hovering around zero but got a notch above during the day. The trees are pretty much taking care of themselves. Not much one can do at the moment anyway. Two successive mornings of red sunrises have lifted the spirits.

I'm pleased you are enjoying the sun rises, Don. Cold here with ice instead of birds' drinking water. I'm wrapped up and wearing a warm Aran. Excellent that the concert was so good. I'm out at a party tomorrow afternoon for us garden centre volunteers, then to my first Christmas concert of the year, in the church at West Ashton.
Hope you stay on your feet and the ice doesn't get you!
